2019 Presidential Volunteer Service Awards
Members of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Lunch Club, presented two awards during their recent end of the year banquet to area students acknowledging their volunteer efforts. Presenting the award, the Club’s Past-President, Monica Millhime, shared, “In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities and inspires those around them to take action.” Millhime, presented the gold service awards on behalf of the President Trump and L-A Rotary members to Madeleine Tiner, 2019 graduate of Poland High School for 285 hours in the young adult category and Abigail Martel, a student at St. Dominic Academy in the teen category for her 106 volunteers hours.
