Lorraine Bard, retired Lisbon School Department Secretary, was presented the Paul Harris Fellowship Award by the L-A Rotary on May 17. President Monica Millhime & PHF Chair Peter Kowalski presented. Bard, served as chairwoman for projects for the fellowship group assisting with the Veterans Appreciation Fishing Tournament, Balloon Festival, Fire Prevention, Dr. Seuss at Karaoke Night benefiting Polio Plus, the annual auction benefiting community nonprofits and the Autism Movie Event. Bard created and edited the club’s first Community Cookbook, which raised more than $2,000 for Alzheimer’s of Maine. “Rotarians often designate a Paul Harris Fellow as a tribute to a person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objective of The Rotary Foundation,” Millhime said. “Lorraine was selected to receive this recognition because fellow L-A Rotarians believe her life exemplifies the humanitarian and educational objectives of the Rotary Foundation.”
