Kate Dickerson
ME Science Festival

On Thursday, December 5th, Kate Dickerson, will be the featured guest speaker of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Lunch Club from noon to 1 p.m. at The Village Inn, 165 High Street, Auburn.

Dickerson is the Founder and Director of the Maine Science Festival. Prior to heading up the MSF, she worked in the energy and environmental field for more than 20 years, with positions in Providence, Rhode Island; Seattle, WA; and the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center at the University of Maine focusing on policy work. Kate is inspired daily by the work of Maine’s scientists, engineers, technologists, innovators, researchers, and students. The MSF is an independently funded program of the Maine Discovery Museum that launched its first festival in 2015.  MSF is a celebration of the national and world leading science by the Mainers who do it. The 2020 festival will be held March 18th-22nd, in Bangor, with all events (except the headliner) free of charge, thanks to their sponsors.
More than 50,000 Mainers from all over the state joined previous celebrations and learned about the national and world leading science happening daily in Maine. In addition to the festival,  MSF Pop-up events are held throughout the year in locations around the state. It's a way to remind people that science is happening every day and that these events are just a sample of what to expect at the full Maine Science Festival.  L-A Rotary meets every Thursday at The Village Inn, Auburn from noon to 1 p.m.  Lunch is available for $14. Guests and visiting Rotarians are always welcomed.  FMI visit for events and other club information are posted at www.lewistonauburnrotary.org and www.facebook.com/lewistonmainerotary/ or contact PR/Marketing Chair, Monica Millhime 713.7045, millhime@myfairpoint.net or Club President Celeste Yakawonis, 713.7111.
